Sewing 102: Beyond the Basics

Ready to take your sewing skills to the next level? Sewing 102 builds on everything you learned in our Sewing 101 series, introducing more advanced techniques and the fundamentals of garment making. Over four hands-on sessions, you'll work with stretch fabrics, learn to insert zippers and elastic waistbands, and explore techniques like pattern drafting, bias binding, interfacing, and professional seam finishes. You'll even draft a custom T-shirt pattern from scratch and bring it to life!

What You’ll Make

You'll put your new skills to work creating wearable pieces, including an elastic-waist skirt or shorts and a custom T-shirt drafted and sewn to your measurements.

• Session 1: Working with knits, stretch fabrics and interfacing

• Session 3: Drafting your custom T-shirt pattern

Materials Included

All essential class materials and supplies for the projects will be provided.

Yourself and a little creative energy! Stitch & Sip will provide the sewing machines, tools, and essential project materials.

Who This Class Is For

This series is exclusively for students who have completed our Sewing 101 four-class series at Stitch & Sip. It's designed for confident beginners who are ready to move beyond the basics, tackle new techniques, and start making their own garments.

Prerequisite: Completion of Sewing 101 at Stitch & Sip is required. This class is not intended for first-time sewing students.

Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in, get settled, and choose your workspace. Class begins promptly at the scheduled time.
