Sewing 101:
A Four-Week Beginner Sewing Series

This four-week series takes you from “Which button do I push?” to confidently operating a sewing machine and completing your first project. You'll learn essential sewing skills in a relaxed, social studio environment while building confidence week by week.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to safely use a sewing machine

  • How to thread a sewing machine

  • How to wind and load a bobbin

  • How to sew straight lines, curves, corners, and basic stitches

  • How to cut and follow a simple pattern

  • Basic construction and finishing techiques

What You’ll Make

One beginner-friendly finished sewing project per session.

Materials Included

  • Sewing machine use

  • Thread

  • Scissors

  • Pins or clips

  • Iron and pressing tools

  • Fabric for the class project

  • Zipper or project-specific materials

  • Basic sewing supplies

What to Bring

Everything needed for class is provided. Guests are welcome to bring:

  • Your own sewing machine, if you’d like to learn on it

  • Cotton fabric, if you want to use your own

  • A notebook, if you’d like to take notes

Who This Class Is For

This class is perfect for complete beginners, anyone who has not sewn in years, or guests who want a relaxed introduction to sewing before joining more advanced workshops. No sewing experience is required.

Happy Hour Note

A mini happy hour with select drinks will be available. Guests must be 21+ to consume alcoholic beverages. Non-alcoholic options will also be offered.

Cancellation Policy

Due to limited seating and class preparation, all bookings are final. Guests may reschedule up to 48 hours before class, subject to availability. No-shows and same-day cancellations are non-refundable.

Arrival

Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in, get settled, and choose your workspace. Class begins promptly at the scheduled time.
