Open Studio Hours

Open Studio Hours are designed for guests who want dedicated time, space, and support to work on their own sewing projects. Bring your current project, get help when you need it, and enjoy a relaxed, social sewing environment with others who are creating at their own pace. Whether you’re finishing a project, practicing a new skill, or simply want a fun place to sew, this is a flexible way to make progress and stay inspired.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Make

Guests will bring and work on their own project during Open Sewing Hours. This may include clothing repairs, alterations, unfinished class projects, tote bags, garments, accessories, upcycling projects, or other sewing work appropriate for the space and time available.

  • Sewing machine use

  • Workspace

  • Thread

  • Scissors

  • Pins or clips

  • Iron and pressing tools

  • Basic sewing supplies

  • Light instructor guidance

What to Bring

Guests should bring their own sewing project and any project-specific materials needed.

Recommended items to bring:

  • Fabric

  • Pattern or instructions

  • Notions such as buttons, zippers, elastic, or trim

  • Matching thread, if you have a specific color preference

  • Unfinished projects

  • Garments for simple repairs or alterations

  • Notebook or sketchbook

  • Your own sewing machine, if you’d like to use it

Who This Is For

Open Sewing Hours are perfect for beginners who want extra practice, experienced sewists who want dedicated project time, and anyone who enjoys sewing in a creative community setting. This is not a structured class, but light support will be available as you work.

Skill Level Note

All levels are welcome. Guests should bring a project that matches their current skill level. If you are brand new to sewing, we recommend taking Sewing 101 before attending Open Sewing Hours.

Happy Hour Note

A mini happy hour with select drinks will be available for purchase. Guests must be 21+ to consume alcoholic beverages. Non-alcoholic options will also be offered.

Cancellation Policy

Due to limited seating and workspace preparation, all bookings are final. Guests may reschedule up to 48 hours before the session, subject to availability. No-shows and same-day cancellations are non-refundable.

Arrival

Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in, set up your project, and choose your workspace. Open Sewing Hours begin promptly at the scheduled time.
